We didn’t expect much beauty heading east towards South Dakota. We were wrong. There were so may colors along the way that we just posted a few photos rather than have some big geological discussion.

We spent the morning hiking Mammoth Hot Springs Upper and Lower Terraces to fully see things. It is different than the other thermal areas of the park because hot water rises through limestone. It is like being on another planet.

Yellowstone is absolutely jaw-dropping. It is gigantic and a combination of so many things. We spent today focusing on The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and Norris Geyser Basin.
