St John’s, Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda (2022)

Antigua is an island, and the largest island in the country Antigua and Barbuda. St. John’s is its capital and largest city.

Weather was lovely today in the mid 70s.

As is often the case, there was another ship in port alongside us.

Right at the cruise ship dock is a nice shopping area.

Not unlike other Caribbean countries, just off the main street things are not so lovely. Antigua and Barbuda is considered a prosperous country by Caribbean standards, yet a quarter of the people live in poverty.

Allyn and I are traveling on this segment with Number 1 Son, Michael. (For you youngsters out there, that is not a statement of offspring preference. It was an affectionate  term used by Charlie Chan in reference to his oldest son.)

We went three different directions today.

Michael went horseback riding along and in the Sea.

Allyn went swimming with stingrays.

Boring me donned my hazwaz gear and hiked around town.
