Knoxville, TN, 2022

Hello from Knoxville, TN where we are starting our current road trip. If it seems like an odd place to start a Great Lakes adventure, it is because we wanted to visit our cruise buddies, the Hellers, whom we have not seen for a while.Hellers, well known art patrons, showed us the recent Sid Singer HEAL Sculpture they purchased to contribute to the local Children’s Hospital. The sideways leaning “H” signifies that something needs correcting (healing).

Next we drove through the beautiful Foothills Parkway in the Great Smoky Mountains. I was surprised to learn that it is America’s most visited national park with over 14.1 million visitors in 2021.Nearby we visited and lunched at the famous Blackberry Farm, renown as one of the most peaceful, high-end, destination resorts in the country. One year Zagats had it rated as the best small hotel in the country.

I am with Kreis Beall co-founder of Blackberry.

The round sculpture is actually painted from the inside and the reverse side has the lady facing out.

Dinner was at the Heller’s beautiful home. In my life I have never seen such fabulous art in a private collection… and can he cook!

One Response so far.

Fantastic art! We’ve stayed at the Blackberry where I got to fish and David went road biking with a young guide with whom he could barely keep up. Great food! Love your adventures.
