Enroute to Auckland, NZ; Cruise Day 53

Today we worked and worked out.
Tonight we ate. Eating on a cruise ship is not normally a blogging event, but tonight was special.
For those who wanted (which included us), there was a special Menu Degustation. Extra special was that it was prepared by visiting celebrity chef Bernard R. Guillas (from La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club).
Extra special yet was that he and his wife joined four others and us at our table for dinner.
I’m normally a meat and potatoes type guy, but this was special. We had prawn, soup, salad, sorbet, veal and dessert. They called it:
·     Cashew Dukkah Crusted Baja Prawns

·     Five Mushroom Bisque

·     Salade Gourmande du Gros

·     Tellicherry Pepper Blood Orange

·     Fleur De Sel Rubbed Free Range Veal Tenderloin

·     Trilogy

It was really quite delicious – but then I came home and ate some of our yummy tropical fruit. I have never had such sweet (or small) bananas.
