Beijing, China; Cruise Day 95
Today we met in the hotel lobby at Xian at 6:00 a.m. in order to get to the airport to catch the plane to Beijing.
The afternoon plans included the Great Wall, but fortunately we were just here about a year ago. Since the weather was quite nasty, we went directly to the Regent where we checked in and spent a lovely day. We had a pizza for lunch knowing that a gourmet Chinese meal was on tap for dinner.
Mark Conroy, President of Regent Cruise lines, flew in to join us for a week. He howdied us with a cocktail party and let us know how keenly interested he is in hearing from his best customers. More will certainly follow.
The ship has been only half full and that doesn’t cut it financially. For me, as a passenger, that works for the short term, but certainly not the long term.
