Sabang is the most Northwesterly city in Indonesia. Population is about 42,000.

This housing overlooked our cruise dock.

Most of us who took a tour chose to go on the two-hour rickshaw ride to see a bit of the city.

The city was mostly closed today because Ramadan had just ended.

This is a typical local park.

Japan occupied Indonesia in 1942 and built about 1,000 of these bunkers around the country.

We are a long ways away from most places.

It was very hot and humid today. It was nice to have a stop with some locals greeting us and getting a snack.

We also stopped at the obligatory outlook. It’s so fun for two of us close friends to have our daughters with us.

We loved looking at and photoing the locals. They loved looking at and photographing us!
