Borobudur

Borobudur is the largest Buddhist monument in the world.

Besides being Indonesia’s most visited and important tourist attraction, it is both a shrine to the Lord Buddha and the ultimate place for Buddhist pilgrimage.

Its 2,672 intricate panels tell the detailed story of Prince Siddhartha, who got married at twelve and went on to become Buddha. They tell the story of his life and search for Ultimate Truth.

It was built almost 3,000 years ago and was abandoned, lost, and forgotten for centuries.
