Barcelona, Spain 2014

Since we have done the heavy-duty sightseeing on previous trips, we thought we would take a quiet stroll down the ever-popular Las Ramblas. Others had the same idea.

Always looking for a new museum for our culture fix, we took in the Erotic Museum, saw some Dali, Picasso, interesting equipment, photos and other memorabilia. Allyn even got into the act.

We use the Hop On Hop Off bus all over the world and it comes in handy here because this city is so much about interesting architecture.

In Barcelona every visit requires a look at Antoni Gaudi’s most famous work, Sagrada Familia (Barcelona’s unfinished church). It is unfinished because there is a refusal to take government funds in order to complete it.

A quiet seafood dinner at Barceloneta overlooking the port is always enjoyable, and many (including us) consider the seafood at Botafumeiro the best in town.

Another evening we enjoyed Italian at a lovely restaurant, Da Greco.

However our best meal was probably at Thai Gardens
