Banff, Alberta, Canada (2021)

We spent two nights at the beautiful, 757 room, Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. It is quite like a fairy tale castle. It opened for business 130 years ago and is so special it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Dinner was at two different restaurants in the hotel. Both were very good food, service and ambiance. As expected, food is a bit pricey here. However, we did not feel ripped off at all.

We witnessed the local beauty from several different angles. The first stop was to see the Banff Hoodoo rocks. They are there but we like the panorama shot even better.

They call the facilities “rustic outhouses”. They definitely are outhouses, but the nicest I have seen. They are nicer than those in the US National Parks and generally those are quite acceptable.

Next was a boat ride around Lake Minnewanke.

Gondola rides are always fun. It was quite windy and cold up top though.

And, it’s aslo fun to see elk up close (but keep your distance).

One Response so far.
