Allegra Long’s Bat Mitzvah

It was back up to Seattle this weekend to honor Allegra Long at her Bat Mitzvah. I hadn’t seen her for about three years and she has blossomed into a beautiful young lady, both inside and out. Her Torah chanting was perfect and her voice was incredible.

It’s no wonder though. Nobody has to debate the nature/nuture argument here. She is one of the lucky ones who has both a great gene pool and is being raised in a great environment.

The connection – her mother, Dina, is my niece.

Oh, and for all you Seattle weather skeptics. No it did not rain. It was about 90 all weekend and as pleasant as it gets anyplace.
