Roatan, Honduras 2025

Roatan is an island off the north coast of Honduras, less than 300 miles south of Cozumel. It is known for its great scuba and snorkeling as it is located on the second largest reef in the world.

Even though it is a small island (49 sq miles) with a small population (110,000), over 1MM cruise ship passengers visit here annually.

No tenders are necessary, and the port facilities (there are two) are much cleaner and inviting than most. In fact, we didn’t even leave the premises.

I love the concept that you can use beach chairs and Wi-Fi here all day just for the price of a drink.

And the in-water bars all for coolness.

We even found a bamboo store right there. Over the last several months we have converted our linens to bamboo as they are the softest sheets we have ever had. Allyn purchased several pair of socks here. It was a pleasant surprise.

On the walk back to board the ship, I noticed peaceful open-air massage was even available. I’m not sure how I missed that, but it was too late to go back.
