Kodiak, Alaska; Cruise Day 114

We had a beautiful day for our visit to Kodiak. Although cool, it was sunny with virtually no wind.

We went on a ship arranged tour that was different than most. This one was on the M/V Sea Breeze, a 46 footer with just six passengers.

Besides viewing the natural beauty, the husband and wife team of Marty and Marion Owen pointed out landmarks, and showed us wildlife (including sea lions, sea otters, bald eagles, and many other birds).

Additionally, they made great coffee, home made cookies and even stopped to howdy local fishermen. It was really fun, and a marvelous way to spend a morning.

Lunch was at a local chowder house, with a bald eagle right in front of the window (as the proprietor feed the birds). The fresh halibut fish and chips was a real treat.
