Belize is the northeastern most country in Central America.
It is known for its UNESCO World Heritage Site, Belize Barrier Reef, the world’s second largest.
Darwin said it is “The most remarkable barrier reef in the West Indies”, and Jacques Cousteau said its Blue Hole is one of the top 10 places to dive on the planet.
Nevertheless, we just walked around town today.
Most of the stores were closed by the port as there weren’t any large ships here today.
Downtown is pretty run down. Notwithstanding that, we were able to visit yet another new (for us) country and pick up 5,000 steps. So, a pleasant day, all in all
Oh, and Allyn found a store called Shalom which made her day.
The next morning, on a Belize island owned by the cruise line, we rode a wave runner. That is always exciting.
