Bangkok, Thailand 2026

Bangkok is now the most visited city in the world with more than 30 million international arrivals in 2025.

We have had the privilege of being here many times and never get tired of it.

The skyline is huge and gorgeous.

We stayed at The Peninsula this year and never tire of the great dinner right on the river. Boats cruise by constantly.

The same space serves the best (and free) buffet breakfast you can imagine. There must be 30 – 40 stations.

Today we did a private long-boat tour with our usual cruise pals. Here you see amazing condos and hotels on the river.

Our one stop was at Wat Arun, a 17th-century Buddhist temple landmark on the Chao Phraya River.

Then it was into the canal. Here we saw big buddhas, gold buddhas, old buddhas and more.

There is also significant poverty to be seen along the canal.

Interesting factoid – The Thai alphabet has 60 letters as opposed to ours which is 26.
