America’s Cup, Auckland NZ 2024
Although I had to pass, Allyn was able to tour and experience sailing the Explore. It raced in the 150th America’s Cup Jubilee in 2001. Allyn and many friends said it was a must do THRILLING experience!
The America’s Cup is the oldest international competition still operating in any sport, starting in 1851. Over the years there have been many changes as to the yacht sizes, shape, and sails, as well as many legal battles and disputes.
It still is the gold standard of sailing races and Auckland is one of the world’s best harbors to sail.
She has the same configuration as when she raced, which gives current guests an authentic race experience (kind of).
