Endicott Arm Fjord and Mendenhall Glacier, Alaska 2025

Alaska cruises are always fantastic. You just can’t beat the scenery. Add to that, that we hit the jackpot with the weather this week, which shows off the natural beauty even more spectacularly.

We woke up this morning in The Endicott Arm, a narrow fjord is located approximately 50 miles southeast of Juneau. It extends over 30 miles long, with nearly one-fifth of its area covered in ice. It’s quite a sight, even at 6:00 AM.

This afternoon we docked in Juneau and opted to take a helicopter to The Mendenhall Glacier and signed up to walk on it for a while.

The Mendenhall Glacier is a thirteen-mile-long river of ice near Juneau, Alaska. Just the gorgeous view on the ride up made the entire trip worthwhile even before we departed the helicopter.

The glacier moves about 6 inches daily.

I mean, we were walking on a glacier.

Allyn even drank from the glacier stream.

And, fortunately, the helicopters returned to take us back.
