Cochin, India

We are back in India after three days around Sri Lanka.

As usual, the keystone kops (aka Indian immigration) took so long to clear us that we just stayed on-board today, and will do our sightseeing tomorrow.

The Chinese fishing nets found in this region are both photogenic and interesting. These nets are land operated pulley systems, which work the same way today as when they were designed 750 years ago. A man walks out on one, it slowly descends into the water, and in the following five minutes they snag some fish and crustaceans .

Nowadays, they sell the catch immediately to a passerby, who then has it cooked right on the street. Fresh seafood here.
