Stonehenge, England

In between cruises today at Southampton, we visited Stonehenge, 30 minutes away.

These are some huge rocks (check out people on the right) moved as far as 250 miles, then lifted and placed into the ground some 3500 years ago.

We know for sure it is one of the most famous places in the world to visit.

We think it was built in three phases taking more than 30 million man hours.

We don’t know for sure why it was built.  Maybe it was a place of dying, or healing. Maybe it was for human sacrifice or astronomy.
