Hong Gai, Vietnam
Today was Vietnam - Day 1. We are in the far north.
Many people zipped off the ship at 7:00 AM to take the 3-hour (each way) bus ride to Hanoi, in order to stand in line (for an hour) to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and a couple of other attractions. Been there; done that, and once is enough.
We, on the other hand, slept in, took the 15-minute drive to Halong Bay, chartered a junk just for the two of us.
We had a marvelously scenic, peaceful and tranquil day.
Even though they said they will be serving lunch, I almost ate beforehand. That would have been a mistake.
Although we stopped to take a nice row, and (once again) to visit a cave, today was all about being surrounded by nature and relaxing.
